This explains what Founding collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It describes what the product actually does today, not what it might do later.
What we collect
When you create an account, we store:
- Your name and email address — to identify your account and sign you in.
- Your company details — the name, and optionally the website, a description, team size and funding stage. These are the answers you give during onboarding.
- Your checklist progress — which setup tasks you have marked done, and the country you have chosen.
Your password is never stored by us in a readable form. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which stores a cryptographic hash.
What we do not collect
- No payment details. Founding does not charge anything and has no payment processing.
- No identity documents, passports or proof of address. Where a registry requires identity verification, you do that with them directly, not through us.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure how quickly pages load. Both are cookieless and do not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites. That is why you are not being asked to accept a cookie banner.
Where your data lives
Account and company data is stored in Supabase, hosted in the European Union. The site is served by Vercel. Both act as processors on our behalf.
Access is restricted at the database level: row-level security means one user’s account can only ever read that user’s own company and checklist rows.
Emails
We currently send no marketing email of any kind. The only emails the system can produce are account emails — a password reset link if you ask for one. If we later add deadline reminders, they will be something you choose to switch on.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Ask us to delete it and the account, company record and checklist progress are removed.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@founding.worldand we will act within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority — in the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Legal basis
We process your account and company data to provide a service you asked for, which is the performance of a contract. Analytics rests on our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works, which is why it is limited to data that cannot identify you.
